The word "Poker" is first used in New Orleans. The origin of the word may have come from the French game poque.
Or perhaps the German game, pochspiel. Another possible explanation comes from the slang "poke," a term used by pickpockets.
Yet another possibility: the Hindu word, pukka. Who really cares? Where did the word "platypus" come from? Again, who really friggin' cares?
